Custom Wood Lockers - University of Hartford Men's Basketball Locker Room

 

CHA an engineering and construction firm approached ProZone about providing new basketball wood lockers at the University of Hartford. CHA a respected design company renovates and builds many sports facilities nation wide. ProZone worked with CHA, Coaches and University representitives, to deliver custom wood lockers that gave them everything they needed in a storage solution.

University Of Hartford's Problem:
An outdated locker room filled with metal lockers that were an eyesore for a major college locker room. Hartford wanted a locker room that they would be proud to show recruits. Adding basketball wood lockers from ProZone was the way to go. With top of the line wood basketball lockers, Hartford could make the locker room the first stop on all recruiting visists. The team also had no storage compartments to lock up wallets, iPods, watches or jewlery.

The ProZone Locker Solution:
With the help of their head coach, ProZone designed custom wood lockers that offered a storage place for everything a player needs. Head Coach Dan Leibovitz wanted more modern looking basketball wood lockers with angled sides. Angled wood locker sides provide a room with a more open, inviting feel. These type lockers are an excellent choice if your locker room is not a huge space. It can hide the appearence of being boxed in.

A clothes rod was added so players could hang there clothes. A built in lock box was provided to lock up valuables. These basketball wood lockers had a pull out drawer with a solid surface seat built into the bottom of each locker for out of sight storage of sneakers and jerseys.

ProZone manufactured the custom wood lockers from maple plywood with maple hardwood edging. University of Hartford chose to go with hardwood edging on all exposed edges to ensure the basketball wood lockers would last.

Basketball wood lockers - Unique Feature:

The locker seats were made from an acrylic material called Corian. Corian is an extremely durable plastic, solid surface material that can be made to look like natural stone. Corian is used in many commercial and residential applications. You would most commonly see Corian used for making countertops. Hartford wanted to add this unique product to their new basketball wood lockers so they would really stand out. This was a very unique feature for custom wood lockers and prozone was able to deliver. The choice to make their seats out of Corian instead of a traditional maple veneer really seperates these custom wood lockers from all others.
