Custom Wood Lockers - Syracuse University Hockey Locker Room

Syracuse University started a new Division 1 Women's Ice Hockey Team and were having a new locker room built at the Syracuse University campus ice rink. The new locker room was going to have coaches offices, workout room, equipment room and new custom wood lockers. After much research Syracuse University decided to go with hockey wood lockers built by ProZone. Syracuse head coach Paul Flanagan was confident in the ProZone reputation and liked the flexibility and uniqueness of their product. ProZone worked with the Construction Manager, Hayner Hoyt Corporation and the Architect, Bonacci Architects to create the highest quality custom wood lockers possible.

Syracuse University's Problem:
With the University's decision to field a Division 1 Women's Ice Hockey Team, there was a need for new hockey wood lockers at their facility.

The team also had no storage space to store their warm-ups clothes.

The ProZone Locker Solution:
ProZone was able to work with head coach Paul Flanagan to ensure they got everything they needed in their custom wood lockers. Wardrobe hooks were added to allow hockey pants, shoulder pads and elbow pads to hang and dry. A jersey hook was added so their equipment manager could hang their jerseys on game day. Finally a lift seat makes it so all extra equipment and gear can be stored under the lockers.

Syracuse hockey chose maple veneer plywood with hardwood edging. Coach felt a lighter color selection was a better fit for his room. Syracuse's hockey wood lockers were constructed using a UV cured finish. Learn more about why ProZone uses the UV cured finish.

Designed into each stall was an airflow system that sucked air through the locker and out the building. The idea of the airflow system is that warm air gets pulled up through the bottom of the front panel and through all the ventilation slots. The result is reduced drying time for all equipment.

ProZone also designed and manufactured "dry room wood lockers" for the team to store their warm-up clothes and personal items. The dry lockers bring added storage space for items you don't need to bring into the main team locker room. Learn more about ProZone's dry room lockers.

Hockey Wood Lockers - Unique Feature:

Integrated into the locker system were custom made skate hooks to hang up their skates. Hooks allow skates to hang freely above their locker. Letting the inside and outside of the skate to dry.
